Assembly Instructions

Removing reusable parts from the existing orifice fan.

1. Turn off all power to the fan.

2. Remove the power cable to the fan motor from the fan braces.

NOTE: Do not cut the power cable. It will be replaced in a later

step. Place the power cable aside for now.

3. Remove the two set screws holding the fan blade to the bearing

shaft. Place the fan blade aside for later use.

4. Remove the fan belt. Place the fan belt aside for later use.

5. Remove the Belt Tensioner from the Tensioner Mounting

Bracket. Place the belt tensioner & hardware aside for later use.

6. Remove the four bolts holding the pillow bearing mounts. Place

the bearing mounts, bearing shaft and pulley with associated

hardware aside for later use.

7. Remove the four bolts, washers and nuts holding the motor.

Place the motor & associated hardware aside for later use.

8. Remove the Top & Bottom Fan braces from the fan mounting

assembly. These fan braces will not be reused.

Assembling the new fan support brackets.

9. Attach all parts removed in step 6 above to new top & bottom braces. Tighten all four bolts securely that hold

the pillow block bearing mounts to the new top & bottom assembly.

10. Attach the top & bottom brace assembly from the Kit to the fan

housing loosely using one bolt, washers, & nut. Install the prop

making sure it clears the fan orifice properly. Tighten all bolts

securely at this time.

11. Ensure the motor mount gusset is flush with the fan mounting

frame and extends to the edge of the flange. Bolt gussets to

holes in bracket legs.

12. Mark two holes and drill two ¼” holes for the gusset mounting

hardware. Mount with two ¼” bolt washer and nut from the

hardware kit. See Detail B.

Tools Required:

7/16" Socket

Flat Head Screwdriver 7/16" Wrench

1/2" Socket Drill

1/2" Wrench 1/4" Drill bit

5/16” Drill bit 3/8” Ratchet

52" Orifice Fan HSP Conversion Kit

IMPORTANT!

Locate packing slip and make sure that all listed parts are

enclosed. If not, call your Hired-Hand distributor

immediately. Please read and understand all instructions

in this manual before installing HSP Kit.
